Rutte and US Prioritize Strengthening NATO

The United States and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte aim to build a stronger, deadlier NATO alliance, as confirmed by the spokesperson of US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth following their introductory meeting. The spokesperson emphasized their joint commitment to enhancing NATO's defense capabilities. Hegseth and Rutte also highlighted the importance of increasing defense spending among NATO members and expanding the capacity of the defense industry.

"The United States, under President Trump's leadership, will fully commit to pursuing these objectives in light of current threats," assured Hegseth, according to the spokesperson. Both leaders agreed to closely collaborate and schedule a personal meeting in the near future.
