- The Russian holiday flight Metrojet is above the Sinai desert literally fell from the sky and crashed in inhospitable area.

According to aviation authorities, none of the 224 passengers of the Airbus A321 survived the plane crash.

The aircraft had just taken off in tourist resort of Sharm el Sheikh for the home flight to St Petersburg. The captain would have reported technical problems and wanted to make an emergency landing. The plane then made a steep descent to the ground with fatal outcome.

Dutch companies may not fly over the northern Sinai because of serious terror threat. But there is no evidence that the Russian unit out of the air is shot. Therefore it flew probably too high. Jihadists have reportedly not provided with such missiles.
