russia - Russian military is utilizing FPV-drones with kilometers-long cables to avoid Ukrainian jammers in the ongoing drone warfare.

The Russian military has introduced a new innovation in drone warfare using FPV-drones with kilometers-long cables to avoid Ukrainian jammers. The FPV drones, controlled as if the operator is inside the drone itself, are being praised as a breakthrough by Russian military bloggers. The cables are set to unravel as the drone approaches its target, such as a group of Ukrainian military personnel or a tank. These cables are manufactured in China, according to reports from the British BFBS Forces News.

Russian military claims to be behind the production of these drones, naming the invention as the 'Prince of Novgorod'. The drones are reportedly produced in Novgorod, where a major military factory is located. The Russian military has intensified its drone attacks in recent months, with over two thousand drone attacks launched in October alone, setting a record in the ongoing conflict.

The FPV-drones, capable of reaching speeds up to 140 km per hour, provide a swift and discreet means of traversing hostile territories. They have been instrumental in inflicting material damage without risking the lives of their own troops. The costs associated with drone production are relatively lower, making them a cost-effective tool in modern warfare.

Various parties in the region, including the Israeli military and Hezbollah, have also ramped up their drone usage since the conflict erupted on October 7 in the Middle East. The drones instill fear in the enemy, as seen in numerous videos circulating on social media platforms, contributing to the ongoing information and propaganda war.
