Russia wants explanation about Facebook restrictions

moscow - Facebook has to explain in Russia why access to several Facebook accounts of media organizations has been restricted. This is demanded by the Russian communication watchdog Roskomnadzor, who speaks of unfriendly policy towards Russian users.

Names of organizations that concerned it were not disclosed. According to the regulator, in general terms, it became more difficult for users to follow the Russian news agenda.

Facebook previously removed hundreds of Russian accounts and pages linked to an organization that tried to influence Internet discussions in Russia's favor, with fake accounts and fake messages. That would have happened during the election battle in the US.

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg said earlier that such trolls should not have room on the network.
