Russia still stops building central Turkey

ankara - Russia is still stopped the construction of a first nuclear power plant in Turkey, in response to the deterioration of the relationship between the two countries after the downing of a Russian fighter jet from Turkey. It involves the reactor at the site Akkuyu in southern Turkey.

The Russian state company Rosatom is working there at the plant that takes converted more than 18 billion euros. According to Turkish energy officials Rosatom has stopped building, but the company has the contract not dissolved.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said last weekend that he had no sign that the conflict over the jet could have an impact on the construction of the NPP.
