
Russia loses seat on UN Human Rights Council

geneva - Russia has its seat lost in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Moscow's term expires at the end of this year
. In the vote on the succession of the 193 UN members Friday favored Hungary as a new representative on behalf of Eastern Europe. Croatia also received slightly more support than the Russians. Netherlands has at least another year a place on the board of 47, which is based in Geneva.
