washington - The missile defense system (THAAD) that the Americans have stationed in South Korea to defend the country against enemy projectiles is operational. That's what a military spokesman announced on Monday.
The Pentagon has steadily continued the project despite China's objections against the activation of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense. Beijing fears that the advanced equipment will also be used for spying on its territory. The locals are worried that they will be the target for North Korean missiles.
