Robot drowns while everyone watches

- During his round trip through a shopping mall in Washington DC, a robot drowned. Residents could do little. The egg-like thing had to replace the human security guard for seven dollars per hour. According to the Knightscope company, which supplies the robots, the 'smart' security workers do not get bored during their work. In addition, the device has many other features that can be used to replace humans.

Detection systems such as cameras, microphones and other sensors detect that something is going on and an alarm system will come into effect. But that the robot would make an end to its existence so quickly was an unexpected disappointment for the mall.

The Knightscope Security Robot left another toddler last month. During that same period a drunken man got angry at the robot and tried to beat the thing. All the alarm bells went down to the big egg, after which the police picked up the drunkard.

More and more robots are being used to replace people. Opinions are divided. Whether the mall is now reviving human securityists is unclear. It is clear, however, that no one has bored during the failed swimming party.
