paris - Jamaican reggae music is included on UNESCO's list of intangible heritage. That was decided during a meeting of the cultural organization of the United Nations on the island of Mauritius, where other traditions won a coveted place on the heritage list.
The decision apparently led to great joy. Delegation members started to dance spontaneously to the song One Love by Bob Marley, says a spokeswoman for UNESCO. The organization writes in an explanation that the primal form of reggae was still a 'voice of marginalized', but that music is now widely embraced.
