india - A 32-year-old woman in India discovered two extra fetuses in her baby during a routine check-up, a rare medical occurrence.

Unusual Discovery During Routine Check-Up

During a routine check-up at a local hospital, doctors made a surprising discovery on the ultrasound of the 32-year-old woman: two extra fetuses growing inside the baby boy. Previous scans had not shown any abnormalities, but this time, a 'structure with bones' was identified. Further examination revealed the presence of two extra bodies.

Dr. Prasad Agarwal, who conducted the scan, described the finding as 'very unusual' and identified the condition as 'foetus-in-foetus', a highly rare phenomenon documented only 200 times in medical literature. The exact cause of the condition is not clear, but it typically occurs during the development of a monozygotic twin.

The woman gave birth on February 1st, and the two non-viable fetuses, which had ceased growth during pregnancy, were successfully removed from the baby's abdomen. Both mother and son are reported to be in good health post-surgery.
