zurich - The public prosecutor in Switzerland has discontinued the investigation into a alleged rape by German actress Renate Langer by film director Roman Polanski. The investigation is terminated for procedural reasons because the case is banned according to the Swiss law.

Later, the French-Polish director accused her of raping her twice. The abuse would have taken place in 1972 when the actress fifteen and Polanski was 38 years old. She is the fourth woman who has accused Polanski of abuse.

Last month, an American artist from California claimed that she was sexually abused by Polanski at the age of ten. In the United States, the director was sentenced in 1978 for illegal sexual acts with a thirteen-year-old girl in 1977. Shortly after his confession and condemnation, he escaped the US.

Polanski was still arrested in Switzerland for his flight in 2009 at the request of the US. He was under house arrest in that country, but was released after one year after proving that the US had made procedural mistakes.
