barcelona - Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont is a candidate for a seat in the European Parliament. He is the party leader for his party Junts per Catalunya (JxCat).
'It is time to internationalize the independence efforts of Catalonia from the heart of Europe and beyond all over the world,' wrote Puigdemont on Twitter.
