Pro-Iranian Militias' Struggle Against Israel: More Bark Than Bite

baghdad - Six Iraqi militias have united in their fight against Israel, but the Jewish state has little to fear for now.

In their struggle against Israel, six Iraqi militias, all Shiite and pro-Iranian, have carried out numerous attacks without much success. The attacks mainly targeted American interests in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan before turning towards Israel on November 2. However, most claims made by Islamic Resistance in Iraq have been unsubstantiated or thwarted by Israel.

For instance, an alleged drone attack on Ben Gurion airport in Israel in March turned out to be a drone incident in Jordan. Despite this, pro-Iranian news outlets like PressTV continue to hail the militias' efforts as monumental achievements.

While the militias' attacks have not been particularly effective against Israel, they have managed to keep the Iron Dome defense system on its toes. This poses an additional challenge for Israel, which is already fending off attacks from other militant groups in the region.

American targets, however, have not been as lucky, with several attacks resulting in casualties. The United States retaliated in February by targeting the militias, showing that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Despite the hype surrounding their actions, Islamic Resistance in Iraq remains a junior player compared to other pro-Iranian groups in the Middle East. Israel's main concerns still lie with Hezbollah and the Houthi rebels.
