Prime Minister Ethiopia survives

addis abeba - At a meeting with the new Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed someone has thrown a grenade to the podium with the prime minister. The prime minister remained unharmed but later declared in front of the television that 'a few deaths' had fallen.

The meeting was Saturday in the capital Addis Ababa. The explosion was immediately after Ahmed, who took office in April, had given a speech. A spokesman for the organization later reported that someone had tried to throw a grenade at the Prime Minister.

Ahmed called the attack 'an unsuccessful attempt by forces that do not want united Ethiopia. 'In addition to a few deaths, an unknown number of people were also injured.
