new york - Upcoming U.S. President Donald Trump will not face any penalties in the hush money case in New York, making him the first convicted criminal to become president of the United States.

Donald Trump, who is set to become the next American president, will not receive any punishment in the hush money case in New York. The judge has ruled that the Republican does not have to go to prison or pay a fine. However, the conviction will remain on his record, making Trump the first convicted criminal to hold the highest office in the United States in just ten days.

In May, Trump was found guilty of tampering with business documents to conceal a hush money payment. Judge Juan Merchan was tasked with determining the sentence, but has decided that no punishment will be given for the crime without any conditions attached. Last week, Merchan hinted that this was the best course of action, as Trump is about to start his second term as president.

Despite signs that there would be no punishment, Trump tried various ways in the past few days to prevent the ruling. He eventually took the case to the Supreme Court, but the court refused to halt the hearing scheduled for Friday.

As a result, Trump is now a convicted criminal. He is scheduled to be inaugurated as president on January 20th.
