Crete, an island in Greece, was struck by a powerful earthquake with tremors felt as far as Egypt. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 kilometers near the island of Karpathos in the Mediterranean Sea, close to Crete, as reported by the Athens Geodynamic Institute.
