seoul - For the first time in thirteen years, South Korean pop stars are performing again in North Korea. A 120-member delegation from South Korea arrived in the North Korean capital Pyongyang on Saturday. Among the delegation members are pop star Cho Yong pill and the girl group Red Velvet.

A taekwondo demonstration team has also traveled to Pyongyang. The pop concerts are held on Sundays and Tuesdays. The South Koreans group in North Korea is led by Minister of Sports and Culture Do Jong-whan. He thinks that the performances can help improve the relationship between the two Koreas.

Earlier this year, a North Korean orchestra was already on stage in South Korea during the Winter Olympics. Those performances could count on great interest. More than 150,000 people participated in a lottery with which they could get tickets for the shows.
