washington - The US Secret Service reveals shortcomings in communication and workmanship during the failed assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

An investigation into the failed assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in July revealed that the US Secret Service found poor communication and sloppy work, according to interim chief Ronald Rowe.

During a campaign event on July 13 in Butler, north of Pittsburgh, a young man shot at Trump from a rooftop just outside the campaign site, killing one person and injuring Trump's ear.

Rowe stated that the investigation highlighted 'communication gaps' before and during the event, leading to non-compliance with security protocols. Sanctions may be imposed on those responsible if necessary. Rowe replaced former chief Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned following the assassination attempt on Trump.
