Police Spain rolls major drug gang

- The Spanish police claims to have rolled one of the main drug gangs in Europe and must have been seven Britons arrested three Dutch and two Spaniards.


         The gang had as a base the Spanish Costa del Sol and specialized in smuggling drugs to Britain and the Netherlands. The American and British police were in the investigation that operation was called 'Dulce' (Sweet surgery) involved, Spanish media reported Tuesday. The head of the Spanish police, Ignacio Cosido, stressed that his country, together with the US and Britain is at the forefront in the fight against drugs.
The arrests were the Spanish newspaper El Periodico on December 14 on the Costa del Sol and in the northwestern Galicia. There are cars, weapons, 3000 kilos of cocaine and 1.2 million were seized.
The operation Dulce came to light when the Spanish police discovered that a group of Dutch in Galicia a large amount of cocaine was brought ashore. The drug smugglers stayed in Santiago de Compostela and fell because they were throwing money around. The customers for these cocaine were two British gangs in Málaga and Marbella. The police intervened on the day that the illegal goods on the Costa del Sol would be delivered.
