Police Charleroi shoots man with knife dead

charleroi - The police of the Belgian city Charleroi Friday morning a 53-year-old man armed with a knife shot dead. Agents, who had been called up for an out of control quarrel with, according to Belgian media, the girlfriend of the man and her son, opened the fire when the man threw himself at them after a warning shot. He died on the spot.

During the fight, the girlfriend and her 22-year-old son were injured. They would have been beaten on the head with a hammer. The son would also have been stabbed with the knife. He was transferred to the hospital in a critical condition. The police were alerted by several bystanders.
