A small plane crashed in the center of the South Brazilian city of Gramado on Sunday, with authorities reporting ten occupants on board and no survivors. Fifteen people on the ground were taken to the hospital for treatment after inhaling smoke from the resulting fire.

The plane reportedly struck a chimney for unknown reasons, then hit a house before landing on a furniture store. Debris from the aircraft landed on a nearby café.

Infraero, a government-owned airport management company, stated that the plane had taken off from Canela Airport near Gramado and was en route to Jundiaí, approximately 200 kilometers north of São Paulo. It is believed to be a twin-engine Piper aircraft.
