Pistorius begins community service

johannesburg - Oscar Pistorius is Saturday in Pretoria began his community service. This is one of the conditions under which he early last month was released from prison in South Africa.

The well-known 28-year-old disabled athlete spent early 2013 his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp with some gunfire killed. He fired the shots through the door of the bathroom. He himself has always maintained that he was under the impression that a burglar hiding in the bathroom.

The former Paralympic athlete was allowed to leave prison last month because he had served one-fifth of his sentence. The rest he may spend in house arrest. He received in 2014 the court five years for manslaughter. It is not known what community service is all about.

At the High Court in Bloemfontein is still an appeal against Pistorius. The decision of which is expected in late november.
