sydney - Because he had killed an ancient crocodile, an Australian farmer has to pay 6350 euros. The 31-year-old man from the town of Rockhampton on the east coast confessed that he shot the more than five meters long animal in a river.
In defense, the farmer indicated that the crocodile had already eaten some of his cows. This crocodile was probably 100 years old: the exact age can no longer be determined.
In Australia, crocodiles are a protected species. They may not be killed without a permit, except in case of immediate danger.
