parkland - Activist students have become the target of conspiracy thinkers after the Florida massacre. Seventeen-year-old David Hogg, an outspoken student, denied being an actor at CNN.

Pupils from Parkland have spoken after the shooting at their school for stricter weapons legislation. This led to all kinds of conspiracy theories about their motives. According to The New York Times, young people are portrayed as 'actors' who have to mobilize people against such weapons after such tragedies.

Hogg, the son of a former FBI agent, got the full blame. According to some conspiracy thinkers he would have been instructed by his father to criticize the government. The teenager was forced to defend himself against the allegations. 'I do not represent another party,' he emphasized at CNN.

The young people were supported by the Republican senator Marco Rubio. 'The claim that some students who appeared on television after Parkland comes from a disgusting group of idiots,' the politician wrote on Twitter. He stated that conspiracy thinkers have 'no decency'.
