The local fire department described the incident as an 'unthinkable crime,' highlighting Hoffman's selfless dedication to serving others. Despite his efforts to prioritize the well-being of others, he was unexpectedly attacked by the patient.
Following a police report, the ambulance arrived at the scene to assist the woman. Unfortunately, Hoffman became the victim of a sudden and fatal stabbing, allegedly carried out by the patient. The assailant has been taken into custody.
Despite being rushed to North Kansas City Hospital and receiving immediate medical attention, including intensive care, Hoffman succumbed to his injuries a few hours after the attack.
