washington - In the mail room of the Pentagon, outside the main building of the department, two packets have been intercepted that presumably contain the deadly poison ricin. According to the American media, the addressees were Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Admiral John Richardson. The FBI initiates an investigation and analyzes the content.
Spokesperson Christopher Sherwood confirmed that the mail items were found during a screening and were intended for persons in the Pentagon. They did not mention their names. Mattis was not in the neighborhood. He visits Paris and Brussels. Sherwood said that the duty staff did not run any harm.
