washington, dc - At least 40,000 civil servants in the United States have accepted buyout offers to resign, according to a White House source.

White House Offers Buyout Packages to Reduce Civil Servants

Over 40,000 civil servants in the US have accepted buyout packages to resign, as confirmed by a White House official. The offer, sent via email to approximately two million federal employees a week ago, includes the option to leave with full pay until the end of September. This move is part of President Donald Trump's administration's efforts to downsize the federal workforce.

Despite government assurances, federal unions have advised their members not to accept the offer, citing concerns over the legality of the resignation terms. Legal actions have been initiated to block the buyout offers, with a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
