Recent severe weather conditions in the US have led to over 200,000 people being left without electricity in several states. The PowerOutage website reported that power services could not be provided to more than 200,000 individuals in the central and southeastern parts of the country. Authorities in North Carolina and South Carolina have issued warnings to prepare for possible hurricanes in some areas. Meteorologists have also highlighted the possibility of heavy rains affecting the western regions of the country until the weekend. In Nebraska, officials advised against unnecessary travel due to limited visibility caused by wind. In Mississippi, two individuals lost their lives yesterday due to adverse weather conditions and storms.
