munich, germany - 23 police cars were set on fire in a suspected politically motivated attack in Allach-Untermenzing district of Munich.

23 Police Cars Set on Fire

More than twenty police cars were set ablaze on the outskirts of Munich in a suspected case of arson. The Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, expressed shock and suggested the attack may be politically motivated, possibly originating from extreme left-wing circles.

The police, aided by intelligence services, are conducting investigations into the incident, which occurred in the Allach-Untermenzing district. Mayor Reiter emphasized that attacks on security and emergency services are attacks on democracy.

Adjacent to the scene, a police building suffered damage from the intense heat, while a police dog center nearby was also affected. Fortunately, no personnel or K-9 units were present at the time of the blaze. Fifty officers conducted a search of the area during the night.

In a gesture of support, Mayor Reiter offered to provide fire department vehicles to the police if needed.
