'No Other Land': A Glimpse into Israel's Occupation

The documentary 'No Other Land' has been nominated for the Best Documentary at the Oscars, showcasing the struggles of Palestinian journalist Basel Adra's activist father against Israeli soldiers and settlers.

Under Siege During Production

Set in the town of Masafer Yatta, the film focuses on the relationship between a Palestinian trying to document his homeland's loss and a Jewish journalist documenting illegal settlement violence. Directed by Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Hamdan Ballal, and Rachel Szor, the film won the 'Best Documentary' award at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2024.

Award Contenders and Ceremony Details

In competition for the Oscars against films like 'Black Box Diaries', 'Porcelain War', 'Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat' and 'Sugarcane', 'No Other Land' brings to light the harsh realities of daily life for Palestinians living under Israeli occupation. The 2025 Oscar nominees include 'Wicked', 'Emilia Perez', and 'The Brutalist', with 'Emilia Perez' leading with the most nominations. The awards ceremony, hosted by American comedian Conan O'Brien, will take place on March 2nd.
