harderwijk - Orka Morgan, who was rescued from the Wadden Sea in 2010, is pregnant. This was announced by marine animal shelter Loro Parque on Tenerife Tuesday. Morgan moved in 2011 after much commotion from the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk to Tenerife.

The deaf young killer whale probably strayed from the waters near Scotland. She was in poor condition when she was found in the Wadden Sea. After the animal had been refurbished, a fierce discussion broke out about whether the killer whale would be able to rescue itself again in the wild. The judge had to deal with it several times before Morgan finally ended up in Loro Parque.

According to Loro Parque, the pregnancy of the orca was discovered during an ultrasound examination during a regular medical check-up of the animal. Orcas get a young one every three to five years. The pregnancy lasts eighteen months.
