OPCW investigates attack on Douma

World April 9, 2018 14:33

amsterdam - The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is trying to find out whether chemical weapons were used in the Syrian rebel enclave Douma this weekend. The organization says it closely monitors the incident and collects additional information 'from all available sources.'

An aid organization reported at least 60 deaths and a thousand wounded by the possible poison gas attack. Damascus denied that government forces had carried out an attack with chemical weapons. Russia, an ally of the Syrian government, also called the accusations nonsense.
