Officials punished for China bus fire

beijing - The local government has sanctioned eleven officials of the Chinese autonomous region of Ningxia man for dereliction of duty after last year put a bus on fire. Eighteen people lost their lives and some thirty people were injured.

According to the government the incident to some officials suggested exposes a lack of concern and responsibility. Warnings that the man to extreme things was able, were ignored. There are no steps to dissuade the man to put the bus on fire.

Two are being prosecuted, including a police officer and the others have imposed administrative penalties.

The man had early last year in a crowded bus two sacks of fuel ignited. He did so after a labor dispute. The perpetrator was sentenced to death and was executed in December.
