Notorious mafia boss caught after 10 years
rome/duisburg - Almost ten years after the infamous Mafia murders in Duisburg, Germany in Italy caught a fugitive offenders. The boss of the 'Ndrangheta, Santo Vottari, was discovered hiding in a bunker in Calabria and arrested Wednesday in the southern Italian region.
The 44-year-old Vottari was one of the most wanted criminals in Europe. He is, according to the European police organization Europol sentenced to thirty years in prison. After the sensational murder of six people in Duisburg he went into hiding.
He is to have slain the wife of the boss of a rival mafia clan accused according to Europol in 2006, among others. In addition, he was involved in three other killings and the killings in Duisburg.
