oslo - Norway has increased the quota for whaling. During the new season started this week, 999 animals may be shot. That's 100 more whales than last year. Norway is, together with Iceland and Japan among the few countries that still hunt whales.
The often bloody hunt dwarf whale has for decades criticized. Norway has this criticism always rejected. 'We live with these animals. Moreover, the population of the dwarf whale is healthy, 'says Ronny Berg, Secretary of State for Fisheries of Norway.
