tromso, norway - The Northern Lights display in Norway's Tromso region captivates viewers with a stunning spectacle.

Formation of the Northern Lights

The recent sighting of the Northern Lights in Norway's Tromso region has mesmerized onlookers. The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are created by the interaction between Earth's magnetic field and charged particles from the Sun. Scientists explain that solar flares release charged particles into space, some of which enter Earth's atmosphere and collide with gas molecules. This collision with oxygen and nitrogen particles in the atmosphere results in the mesmerizing display of the Northern Lights.

In the northern hemisphere, this activity primarily occurs within a band known as the 'aurora oval,' covering latitudes between 60 and 75 degrees. When the activity is intense, it can expand to cover a wider area.
