'North Pole without sea ice this year '

- The North Pole is the first time in over 100,000 years run out of sea ice this year or next year. That predicts a leading scientist in the field of the poles at the University of Cambridge.

From satellite data show that on June 1 was only 11.1 million square kilometers of ice, whereas the last thirty years averaged nearly 12.7 million square kilometers.

,, My prediction is that the ice in the Arctic is likely to disappear, or less than one square kilometer will be in September, 'Peter Wadhams told the British newspaper The Independent.

The rapid warming of the Arctic is linked to extreme weather events, such as the floods in parts of Europe and tornadoes in the United States occur out of season.

In addition, there will be less sea ice to the north coast of Russia, so the sea is significantly warmer.
