ukraine - Reports suggest that North Korean soldiers stationed at the front in Ukraine are spending most of their time watching porn online, while their activities are closely monitored back home.

According to the Financial Times, the 'cannon fodder of Kim', as they are mockingly referred to, have free access to the internet and are avidly taking advantage of it. Internet access in their own country is virtually non-existent for residents. Even those with (censored) access are closely monitored.

It is estimated that there are currently 8,000 to 12,000 North Koreans near the front in Ukraine. The Ukrainian military reported the first skirmishes with soldiers from the Far East on Monday.

A spokesperson for the US Department of Defense stated that they have not yet been able to confirm the reports about pornography. They are currently focused on the serious threat at hand.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed deep concerns about the new soldiers from North Korea. He called Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un a coalition of criminals, stating, 'This marks the participation of a second country in the war against Ukraine alongside the Russians.'

The battalion was allegedly trained in secrecy in the Far East of Russia to later be deployed as part of a Russian airborne regiment. A senior official in the Ukrainian military informed the news site Politico that the unit is known as the Buryat Battalion, named after the Russian region of Buryatia bordering Mongolia.
