North Korea grants prisoners amnesty

pyongyang - In honor of the seventy-seventieth anniversary of the communist state, North Korea wants to grant an as yet unknown number of prisoners amnesty. The North Korean state media report that on Monday.

The establishment of the state is celebrated in North Korea on 9 September. The amnesty is granted on 1 August.

In 2015, the last time the government of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made such a decision. In North Korea, according to the United Nations (UN), it is bad about human rights. The UN wants the violations of human rights to become part of the talks about the denuclearization of North Korea.

The US government assumes that between 80,000 and 120,000 political prisoners are trapped in camps.
