No damage after the quake in the Pacific Ocean

sydney - A severe earthquake occurred near the New Caledonia archipelago east of Australia. The quake had a force of 7.0 and took place at a depth of about 10 kilometers. As far as we know, there are no reports of damage.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported that coastal areas up to 300 kilometers away from the epicenter had to take into account tidal waves. The warning applied to New Caledonia and Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean, where waves eventually arrived which did not constitute a threat.

The authorities in Australia and New Zealand announced that they had not issued a tsunami warning.
