The Nello Musumeci nominated by the party for governance has received 36 percent of votes cast by preliminary counts, against Giancarlo Cancelleri of the 5-star anti-establishment party, 34 percent reported the RAI state group. Two left-hand candidates, Fabrizio Micari and Claudio Fava, followed a long distance.
The elections in Sicily were seen as a measure of the national elections in spring 2018. The preliminary results indicate that Berlusconi's return should be taken into account.
