- Newcastle United nears a £55 million deal for Yoane Wissa as Alexander Isak's exit looms. Wissa set for medical with Brentford forward expected to replace Isak.

Newcastle United Nears £55M Deal for Yoane Wissa

Newcastle United is on the verge of securing a £55 million transfer deal for Yoane Wissa, with the Brentford forward scheduled for a medical on Monday, sources revealed to ESPN.

Replacing Alexander Isak

Following the £130 million deal for Alexander Isak, Newcastle is swiftly moving to fill the void by reaching an agreement with Brentford for the DR Congo international, Yoane Wissa. The club is optimistic about finalizing the transfer on deadline day.

Focus on Wissa

Despite considering Jørgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle will prioritize completing Wissa's transfer before the deadline, sources confirmed.

Player's Stand-off with Brentford

Yoane Wissa, 28, has been absent from Brentford's matches this season after expressing his desire to join Newcastle. Brentford has now approved his move to St. James' Park after a prolonged negotiation.

Loan Move for Reiss Nelson

Additionally, Reiss Nelson is poised to join Brentford on loan from Arsenal, adding depth to the team's forward line. Nelson, 25, had a loan spell at Fulham last season.

Information from ESPN's James Olley contributed to this report.
