New Zealand forest fire under control

wellington - The huge forest fire that raged for days on the South Island of New Zealand and threatening the outskirts of Christchurch, is under control. Friday morning (local time) the rescue services were able to contain the blaze, aided by a change in the weather with light rain.
The wildfire Monday probably started by a short circuit and eventually covered an area of 20 square kilometers. A firefighting helicopter crashed Tuesday down so the pilot was killed. Certainly eleven houses were reduced to ashes. About 450 homes had to be evacuated on the outskirts of Christchurch, the residents came up with a fright. They can Friday in the course of the day back.
