The abbreviation of the party, formed from the initials of its name, is used as 'Döner Partei.' Led by Nils Marx, the party is promoting itself as 'Germany's most delicious party,' and is collecting support signatures on its website to be able to participate in the elections. It requires a minimum of 27,000 signatures to nominate candidates.

Recent poll results ahead of the upcoming federal elections in Germany have shown an increase in the voting percentage of the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD).
