germany - A new political party named 'Döner Partisi' has been established in Germany, aiming to participate in the upcoming federal elections. The party requires 27,000 signatures to be able to nominate candidates.

A new political party called 'Döner Partisi' has entered the political scene in Germany. The Federal German Election Board has announced the list of parties that will participate in the early general elections to be held on February 23. Among the 56 parties competing in the election, the Döner Partisi, established in Frankfurt in 2024, is also included.

The party's official name is 'Deutsche Partei für die ökonomischer Neuordnung essentieller Ressourcen,' which translates to 'German Party for the Economic Reorganization of Essential Resources.' The abbreviation of the party, formed from the initials of its name, is used as 'Döner Partei.' Led by Nils Marx, the party is promoting itself as 'Germany's most delicious party,' and is collecting support signatures on its website to be able to participate in the elections. It requires a minimum of 27,000 signatures to nominate candidates.

Recent poll results ahead of the upcoming federal elections in Germany have shown an increase in the voting percentage of the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD). According to the polls, AfD's voting rate increased by two points to 21%. In a poll conducted in December, AfD's vote was 19%. The center-right alliance CDU/CSU in the main opposition also saw a slight decrease in its voting rate, dropping from 18% to 16%. Chancellor Olaf Scholz's party SPD, which was at 18%, continues to lose votes.
