kathmandu - South Asian Nepal will remove all cars that are 20 years old or older from the streets from mid-March. The government of the country wants to reduce the number of traffic jams and improve air quality. The ban applies to about 5000 vehicles. Taxis are excluded from the ban.
The capital Kathmandu had previously had a similar arrangement because of the pollution. Nepal is one of the highest countries in the world and is therefore one of the most polluted countries.
