Nearly 9 million French people below poverty line

- Nearly nine million French people live below the poverty line. That is, they have to live on less than 1008 euros per month. That's according to the latest statistics relating to last year, a slight increase over 2014, the newspaper Le Parisien reported on Monday.

Of the approximately 66 million French people, according to the calculations of the statistical office Insee 8.8 million people are very poor. That is 14.3 percent of the population. In 2014 it was 14.1 percent. The statistics institute Insee figures confirm that already had spread a Roman Catholic relief organization, Secours Catholique. Secours Catholique argued recently that 8.8 million people are poor in the country from 7.8 million in 2000.
