- NASA plans to bring back astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams from the space station in mid-March, shortening their stay after technical issues with Boeing spacecraft delayed their return.

NASA's Decision for Early Return

NASA announced that astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been stranded at the space station for over 8 months due to technical issues with the Boeing spacecraft, will be returning to Earth earlier than planned. Originally scheduled for late March or early April, the return is now set for mid-March, shortening their stay by a few weeks. The astronauts were sent to the International Space Station on June 5, 2024, for a week-long test flight aboard Boeing's new Starliner capsule. However, a technical glitch in the Starliner delayed their return, prompting NASA to issue the directive for the capsule to return empty.
