Mystery 'rare' mane lioness solved

oklahoma - The caretakers of a zoo in Oklahoma were perplexed last month: lioness Bridget had developed a considerable man growth. Lab results have now shown how the new look of hair originated.

The Oklahoma City Zoo says in the March newsletter that tests at the University of Tennessee show that the African lioness Bridget has an increased level of androstenedione, a hormone that can contribute to the development of male functions.
