- The East German town Freiberg sends officers on patrol to relieve overvraagde police. Mayor Sven Krüger said Thursday that patrols of officers come to ensure security for citizens. Officials receive a " service dog " pepper spray, a baton and handcuffs along. The council agrees.

Freiberg was recently in the news for by riots around the reception of asylum seekers, but the disturbances are not limited to the anti- immigrant protest, said the mayor. It is mainly about burglary and theft increase. The extra patrols of two people must be kept 24 hours a day. The municipality 's property tax more heavily to cover the 500 000 euro extra charge.
