munich, germany - At least 30 injured in a shocking attack in Munich before the upcoming conference.

Attack in Munich

Germany's city of Munich, hosting the Munich Security Conference starting today, was rocked by an attack. During a demonstration by the labor union Verdi, a driver plowed into the crowd. At least 30 people, including children and 15 seriously, were reported injured. Munich police revealed that the assailant taken into custody was a 24-year-old Afghan refugee named Farhad N. Munich police spokesperson Thomas Schelshorn stated that the investigation into the cause and circumstances of the attack is ongoing. The attack took place in close proximity to Hotel Bayerischer Hof, where the Munich Security Conference will be held. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on the attack, stating, 'This is something we cannot tolerate and accept.'
